The Film Screening

West Newton Cinema was brimming with excitement the afternoon of May 7th, 2008. The excitement of watching student made movies. To be completely honest, this critic was surprised at the quality and the content of these movies. I want to complement both professor Solbrig and Sterns class for their movies.

The first movie was probably one of my favorites because I love mockumentories. I felt that the script and the acting in this movie was some of the best at the showing and I would have given it a Hippie for best comedy. I think the most frustrating movie from the fictional side was "stalker". I say this because the ending wasn't what I expected. It left me wanting more and I think that it could have been explained more.

The documentaries were also very good. I liked the one about surfing because I didn't know much about the surfing industry in this area. The documentary about the school support opened my eyes too. I had no idea about the program that they were focusing on. But I think the Hippie for best documentary and best editing goes to the music documentary. I feel that they put a lot of work into it and they got two different kinds of people for interviews. Also I feel that they edited in scenes from their performances with voice overs were done extremely well. (I'm not just saying that because one of my group members helped make this film.)

I enjoyed the film festival, and I feel that it is a good thing because I for one didn't really think that people at Bentley were all that creative, but these people changed my mind.
